    Popular Summer Theatre & TV Arts Camps for South County Youth

    The Gavilan College STAR (Summer Theatre Arts Repertory) Program is one of the best summer programs available for youth (ages 8-17) living in the South County. Over the past 23 years, STAR has become a summer tradition for many families and an important part of hundreds of children's lives.

    STAR is looking for theatre artists to join our dynamic team of motivated and energetic individuals: dancers, actors, vocalists, stage managers, educators, videographers, and others who enjoy working with youth.


    The STAR Program is dedicated to creating a safe and creative learning environment for youth to explore the exciting world of the performing arts. This summer STAR-Gilroy participants will present "Seussical Jr."

    and STAR-San Juan Bautista participants will present "The Tempest" at El Teatro Campesino in San Juan Bautista. STAR Video participants is for students interested in creating their own TV show to air on GavTV-18.


    STAR sessions run from June 23-August 12, 2008, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday. Staff will also be required to attend a three-day training session from June 18-20th.
