The Director of the Center of Performing Arts’ primary role is to facilitate opportunities on the Santa Clara University campus to teach students, engage audiences, and promote understanding through the performing arts.

The Director is responsible for (1) developing a strategic plan that creates distinction for the performing arts at SCU (2) providing operational management that generates financial resources for the CPA, provides affordable facilities and tickets for local artists and patrons, and supports performing arts programming by the Department of Theatre and Dance, Department of Music, Justice and the Arts Initiative, and CPA (3) developing effective marketing, sales, and public relations campaigns to promote performing arts programming by the Department of Theatre and Dance, Department of Music, Justice and the Arts Initiative, and CPA (4) collaborating with campus constituents to explore grant and granting opportunities and to develop multifaceted performing arts programming on campus (5) generating community interest and involvement in the performing arts at SCU as a means of cultivating donors, providing outreach opportunities, and developing unique educational experiences and (6) serving as a member of the Performing Arts Coordinating Council.

Mayer Theater, the 125-seat Fess Parker Studio Theater, a 250-seat recital hall, the Curtis and Margaret Cole Performing Arts Plaza, dance studios, and rehearsal spaces.
