ABOUT JAMES DUBEQ Mr. DuBeq was recently seen in a regional production of CATS where he played the magical Mr Mistoffelees. He has completed a year term with the Broadway national tour of Miss Saigon as a Male Swing, and Co-Directed and Choreographed Diablo Light Opera Company's production of Miss Saigon, where he earned a nomination at the 2006 Shellie Awards for Best Choreographer. In May of 2006, Mr. DuBeq's was nominated Best Supporting Male Actor in a Musical at the New Jersey Perry Awards for his performance as Mercedes in La Cage Aux Folles. This year, Mr DuBeq came back to California to perform at Foothill Musical's production of Pippin, and Pacific Repertory's production of La Cage Aux Folles where he plays the role of Hanna from Hamburg. With 20 years of experience in the vast world of entertainment, Mr. DuBeq has performed professionally in numerous lavish productions worldwide and has worked for companies such as Disney, Kings, Jim Henson, Paramount, Carnival Cruise Lines, Sesame Street Live!, and Big League Theatricals. James has danced in highly acclaimed production shows in Las Vegas, Reno, Atlantic City, Miami, Guam, England, Japan, and his hometown, San Francisco. As a Director and Choreographer, Mr. DuBeq has staged some of San Francisco’s best cabaret shows such as Imagine It, Escapade, Destination SF, Luminessence and Les Fauxlies Fantastiques. In 1994, James was the assistant choreographer for the Miss Nevada USA and Miss Nevada Teen USA Pageant. His choreography for Univision’s Annual Gala in 2004 at the Lincoln Center in New York City received rave reviews, as well as his choreography and costumes for San Francisco’s newest musical, Watch Me Shine. Mr. DuBeq is also the Master Costume Designer for Gregangelo’s Velocity Circus Troupe, and has designed for companies such as Feld Entertainment and Cirque du Soleil, where his costume designs were highly acclaimed by critics nationwide.
