    This Tony Award winner for Best Musical is a boisterous and uplifting celebration of love in an untraditional family who owns a St. Tropez nightclub. Their domestic peace is shattered however, when their son must introduce his prospective straight-laced in-laws to his own loving "parents". The show is filled with gorgeous costumes, fabulous dance numbers and a wonderful Jerry Herman score including "The Best of Time", "I Am What I Am" and "The Song of the Sand". THE BIRDCAGE, the movie starring Robin Williams and Nathan Lane, is the updated version of this toe tapper story and is a triumph of sentimental showmanship.
