    The Fall Collaboration Concerts "Saakhyam – Friendship" will be a joint celebration of two distinguished and acclaimed dance companies in the state of California, both celebrating their achievements in South Indian classical dance for almost three decades. Abhinaya will be joined by Southern California’s Shakti Dance Company of Los Angeles. Indian mythological literature is a vast treasurehouse of stories that describe the special relationship of friends, depicting trust and betrayal, love and hate. Other classic examples from around the world will also be portrayed. The concert will feature collaborative performances by Kumar and Prakash, and their respective companies will dance together in a scintillating finale. A live orchestra with several talented musicians such as Mythili Kumar and Vijji Prakash, nattuvangam (cymbals), Asha Ramesh (vocals), N. Narayan, (mridangam) and Shanthi Narayan, (violin), will support the dancers with several pieces of original music.
