Fourteen-year-olds Melchior, Moritz, and Wendla struggle with their sexual coming-of-age in an atmosphere of repression and limited parental support. I went to see this fascinating play on Saturday, March 4nd, and found myself drawn into the performance. All the actors, especially the young man playing Moritz, did a wonderful job portraying life in a resticted society. It was gut-wrenching at times and at others, bitterly cruel. The coldness with which Moritz's death was handled by his peers was especially poignant. My feelings for the character Melchior were quite conflicted. A wonderful evening that made me ponder things long after the play was over. Collapse
