Add Review/CommentIntroduced in 1947, Stravinsky’s Concerto for Strings presents the classical style in a modern framework. Mozart’s last opera, set to a libretto adapted from Metastasio by Caterino Mazzolà, premiered on September 6, 1791 at Prague’s celebrated National Theatre. This monumental work takes us to early Rome, where the kindly emperor Titus survives an assassination attempt and magnanimously forgives the traitors. Fremont Symphony’s special performance of La clemenza di Tito commemorates the 250th birthday of Mozart, who created a new form of opera through an ingenious synthesis of various earlier operatic styles.
