I saw the show last Saturday night and all I can say is WOW! Every part was acted to perfection and the costumes were exactly what you would imagine the 1900's were like. I didn't hear a single sour note from the orchestra or the cast. Whatever sound problems Suzzane heard were obviously fixed because the sound was outstanding. All of the sound effects were timed exactly right and engulfed the audience as if they were part of the scene. Voices were clear, easily understood and seemed to come from the stage, not muffled and from somewhere on the side like the last two shows I saw there. They announced that the part of Evelyn was played by an understudy, she was great. I can only imagine how good the regular actress was. If I can still get a ticket I may go again! Collapse

I'm not a huge musical fan, and I've found productions at this theatre for me personally to be a hit of miss. This one was a huge hit! The entire 57 person cast and the dozens and dozens of crew and staff should be tremendously proud of this. ALL of the technical aspects were spot on, and it was one of the hardest working chorus ensembles I've ever seen, at any theatre. This is a GREAT musical, and it was surprisingly well adapted to this smaller stage. I was really stunned by the entire production, and even more so becuase I know how little space backstage there was to hide all those sets and do all those quick changes. My only request, and it's always a challenge wherever you go, is to get the sound under control. Feedback and humming from mics in the second act epecially broke that magic for a good 20 minutes of what otherwise was a really enjoyable night. Well done. Collapse

Such a saying is so true especially with this production of RAGTIME. Having seen it in Broadway and at other theaters, I was pleasantly surprised of how grand the set was and the cast - for a community theater. For a mere $27, it was well worth it!!! Go see it...it has been sold out for the last 2 weekends. Collapse

I saw Ragtime Saturday night and it was a great show!!! Tracy Camp was great as Sarah, and the other performances, sets, costumes - well, just everything was top notch!

Having seen Ragtime several times at various larger venues, and having performed in the show at one such venue, and also having performed many times at the Saratoga theatre, I was completely unprepared to witness how this smaller stage was transformed into the ideal venue for the telling of this compelling drama. Director C. Michael Traw and his production staff have to be given extremely high marks for what they were able to create. The show is beautifully acted, so wonderfully sung, visually crafted and swiftly moving. The three hours passed all too quickly aided by almost invisible movie like transitions from scene to scene, requiring adept work by the so talented cast. I didn't have a ticket, even though the word of mouth from the opening weekend was "get your ticket NOW", and was thrilled to find a single available. The theatre was practically sold out; the few vacant seats probably belonging to those who had last minute emergencies. Get a ticket if you can! Collapse

I have been a theatre goer for over 25 years now. I have seen every show you can think of done in every imaginable way you can think of. What a surprise and delight to watch the cast of Ragtime perform this last weekend. When I was asked to attend the performance, I must say I was hesitant. How could such a small company do something as large as Ragtime? Impossible. I thought...No way they will be able to pull off this huge production and still maintain the intimate, intertwining storyline. I was not only pleasantly surprised but fully entertained. The actors were superb. From the major roles to the smaller walk-ons. At no time did someone on stage not stay in the moment of his character and make me believe what I was seeing. The voices were strong. You could tell they loved what they were doing and wanted to do nothing but a first rate performance. Sets and costumes were some of the best I have seen. Orchestration was right on the money. Bravo to cast, crew and direction. Collapse
