Make way for Chinese New Year (Feb. 7) and what better way to celebrate this auspicious holiday than to catch the illustrious Peking Acrobats live! These masters of agility and grace are an outgrowth of the Great China Circus (from the 1920s) and they have evolved into one of China's premier acrobatic troupes. Since their debut in 1985, the Peking Acrobats have redefined audience perceptions of Chinese acrobatics. They perform daring maneuvers atop a precarious pagoda of chairs; they are experts at treacherous wire-walking, trick-cycling, precision tumbling, somersaulting, and gymnastics. High-tech special effects and live musicians make this an exhilirating spectacle that brings the excitement and festive pageantry of a Chinese Carnival to life. The Peking Acrobats have played before sold-out houses, earned rave reviews all over the world, and appeared in numerous television specials and the occasional Hollywood movie such as Ocean's Eleven.
