The comic strip “Peanuts” debuted on October 2, 1950, and for almost fifty years, the world was amused by Charlie, Lucy, Linus, Snoopy and the other lovable Charles Schulz characters. The final strip appeared on February 13, 2000, and during its run the strip was seen in 21 languages and 2,600 newspapers. Charlie Brown found his way to the stage in the 1960’s and to television in the 1970’s. The newest stage version opened on Broadway in 1999. This charming and touching Tony Award-winning musical allows us to spend a day with Charlie as his experiences take him from wild optimism to utter despair. Charlie and his friends offer the ultimate in innocence but, at the same time, wise insights into life and bring joy and happiness to audiences from eight to eighty.
