Mighty Titus, greatest warrior in the history of Rome, having culminated his illustrious career by defeating the Goths, returns to Rome with Tamora, Queen of the Goths, as his captive. When Tamora's son is condemned to die, she vows bloody revenge on Titus. This is by far Shakespeare's darkest, goriest, and most grotesque play. Once again we bring our warped sensibilities to the Bard and the results will be truly awesome!

Titus is a play with a lot of exposition in the first half which set up the gorey second act which is well executed in Renegade's production. A handful of performances stand out against a moetly ensemble, and the interpretation is certainly different, though inconsistant in some parts. Over all though this play is great, and at under 2 1/2 hours it's something different. See it before its gone! Collapse

as you've probably figured out by the description, this aint your typical Shakespeare show. The costumes/makeup, set, lighting, and "weapons," set the tone for this grisly world, while the blood curdling violence in the opening scene sucks you into this unforgiving world. The gruesome brutality throughout, takes the audience to a realm you wouldn't want to venture into. No life is sacred as, knives, guns, hammers, shovels, you name it, are used to reek a spiraling force of destructing on the lives of the characters. It's well worth checking out; but with all the blood and gore, this show isn't for the faint of heart. Enjoy. Collapse

Wow, I was blown away by the interpretation, direction, and acting by the Renegade group. Recasting Titus, the great warrior of Rome, as a sort of hardcore biker "anti-hero" gang leader was brilliant stroke, and takes nothing away from the core tragedy of Shakespeare's work. Actually, it's like watching a really compelling episode of the Sopranos -- edgy, passionate, and surprising in turns... all which makes the work even more accessible across any audience. Professionally produced and lovingly acted -- it's what makes local theatre so great. Best part -- the price to see such great work is completely affordable! Collapse
