Cypress String Quartet, Bay Area stars and Quartet-in-Residence at San Jose State University, performs to acclaim worldwide. They are also lauded for innovative programming and dedication to music education and outreach, including at Horace Mann School. Guest artist James Dunham is former Cleveland String Quartet violist and now Rice University Professor, and Bay Area cellist Mark Kosower is a Klein String Competition winner and 2002 Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient. “A Generation X ensemble to watch” (Chamber Music Magazine). Program: Mozart, String Quartet #21 in D Major, K.575, Shostakovich, Quartet #11 in F Minor, Op.122, and Brahms, Sextet in G Major, Op.36. Pre-concert talk: Roger Emanuels.
