Jekyll & Hyde is a rousing gothic musical based on the classic tale of good and evil. Murder and chaos run rampant and evil lurks around every corner, but love and virtue put up a strong fight in this engaging thriller. Dr. Henry Jekyll, pursuing his life-long quest, endeavors to separate the two natures of man. Refused help by his peers and superiors, he begins experiments on himself with his formula. He meets with success, and shocking results.

Great cast! I was very impressed with Cliff McCormick's ability to teeter-totter back and forth between Jekyll and Hyde. This is such a difficult role to attempt, let alone knock out of the park. He fully commits himself to both roles, offering a stunning contrast between good and evil. On top of it all, he can really sing! I'm glad I got to see the show while I was in town. I recommend catching McCormick's next show - I know I will! Collapse

This is a beautiful treatment of a powerful story. Cliff McCormick's Jekyll/Hyde is very forceful but also exhibits a softness and sweetness that lends a touching quality. Melissa O'Keefe as Lucy Harris delivers her musical numbers with energy and force but still maintains "sympathy" and "tenderness". Colette Phelps' Emma Carew looks and sings like an angel without losing an underlying fierceness in defense of her tragic fiance, Dr. Jekyll. The show is briskly paced with a strong supporting cast that lends amusement and interest (pay particular attention to "Bissett the Apothecary"). The costumes and set are incredible and you won't find a better deal in town. Collapse

With a strong cast and beautifully done sets, this Jekyl and Hyde beats the broadway tour by far. Cliff McCormick is unforgetable in a role that few could attempt. He transfixes the audience as both Jekyl and Hyde leaving them in silent awe followed by gasps and applause. We traveled to see this production and were not disappointed. Catch it while you can! Set design brilliant - very dark feel. Cast worked off of it well. Lighting incredible, special effects effective. Music surprisingly full for 10 musicians, although seemed rushed at times, particularly during Confrontation number. This production took usually less-than-memorable musical numbers and gave them new life with professional level performances. Cliff McCormick's tenor is clean and strong; his acting in this dual role passionate. His Hyde is terrifying to watch - amazing physical transformations. Melissa O'Keefe's soprano is show-stopping, her "Someone Like You" brings tears. Collette Phelps' mezzo soprano is a great contrast - duets with McCormick and O'Keefe beautiful. Rest of cast strong, no one straying from roles, together delivering well above average show. I have worked in theater, front and back of the house - this is among the best I've seen. I might pay to see this one again. Collapse

Just to be clear, "Jekyll & Hyde" is not my favorite show, but many people love it. My girlfriend is also in the ensemble, so I do have a connection there. I've seen a couple of very bad productions of "Jekyll and Hyde," and this is not one of them! Melissa O'Keefe is a great Lucy; some of those notes and chords you just want to hear again and again. The other leads had strong showings for the most part. The Jekyll/Hyde character is one of the hardest to play in Musical Theatre - Cliff McCormick has some awesome "transformations," although some more indecision fighting with conviction about his choices in act 1 would have been good. Some standout character work by Mischa Stephens, Rebecca Wallace, and Ian Teeter. The Set is AMAZING. There were a couple of strange choices made by the staff (why wasn't "Bring On the Men" a dance number?!), but it's a good show that's ready for an audience. If you've never seen J&H, PAP's show would be a good introduction. Collapse
