The Community School of Music and Arts (CSMA) at Finn Center in Mountain View will present Stretching the Boundaries, an exhibition of works by nine contemporary artists from Paper Gem Printmakers. The exhibition will feature more than 40 works by local printmakers Barbara Abbott, Sandra Beard, Kate Curry, Linda Fillhardt, Yeung Ha, Ellen Kieffer, Valerie Magee, Grace Purpura and Mercy Smullen. With monotype as the primary medium, the artists’ works show their experimentation with collage, assemblage, etching and solar etching, Xerox transfer, drawing and painting media. Other than having monotype be involved, the artists of Paper Gem Printmakers impose no rules on their works.

The CSMA has a wonderful program of free cultural performances for families. Four Winds was an example of the terrific programming. It instilled an interest in native american culture in our son.

Not only is the Kulintang music and dance beautiful, but this group performed wonderfully for their audience - the children and the adults were captivated.

These guys sure sounded like a lot more than four men and four mics. The sound was great and the breadth of music was a lot of fun. Mostly I'm amazed.
