    John D. Schwandt, unanimous first-place winner of the 1998 National Competition in Organ Improvisation in Denver in conjunction with the American Guild of Organists National Convention, will appear in a recital co-sponsored by the San Jose Chapter of the American Guild of Organists and Campbell United Methodist Church. Dr. Schwandt will perform in a recital of works including Bach, Buxtehude, Widor and others, as well as an Improvisation on Submitted Themes on the church’s 48 rank, 3-manual Schantz organ (1993.)
