This Friday through Sunday proceeds from any book, magazine or CD purchased at the Barnes & Noble Bookstore in Eastridge Mall, will help support Arts Council Silicon Valley, a local nonprofit that supports the arts groups and artists throughout Santa Clara County. All you have to do is print out a copy of the voucher here and bring it with you to the Eastridge Barnes & Noble on any one of the days listed. Simply hand it in when you make your purchase and a percentage of the sales will go directly to the Arts Council so we can continue to make your community a better place to live and work. The more money raised, the higher a percentage that will go to the arts. We are also presenting a number of exciting events at Barnes & Noble during this time, which are free to the public: Fri 7pm: The San Jose Chamber Players, classical music trio Sat 12pm: Children’s story time followed by David Sharpe, children’s singer / songwriter Sun 3:30pm: Poetry readings and book signings from three of the Arts Council’s former Artist Fellows: Truong Tran - author of Dust and Conscience, Winner: Poetry Center Book Award for 2002, Placing the Accents, Within the Margin, and The Book of Perceptions. Sally Ashton who is on the Board of Poetry Center San Jose and has a published book of poems called These Metallic Days. Robert Pesich, a Stanford staff scientist-turned-poet and has two published poetry books called Cuts from the Barbershop and Burnt Kilim.
