    Argentina's controversial First Lady is the subject of this dynamic musical masterpiece written by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Told through a compelling score that fuses haunting chorales with exuberant Latin, pop, and jazz influences, Evita creates an arresting theatrical portrait as complex as the woman herself. This production is performed by the Children's Musical Theater of San Jose's mainstage actors ages 14-20.

        This was the first time I attended a CMTSJ performance, and I was blown away. Aside from the somewhat cramped stage (at the Montgomery Theatre), I was very impressed by how professional everyone looked, acted, and especially sounded. The orchestra was also excellent. Bravisimo! I will definitely be back for future programs. Collapse

        My daughter and I went to see Evita this weekend - our first CMT show - but definitely not our last. More local theater-goers should come see what this theater company is up to - it's definitely not "kiddie" theater. We were amazed by the poise and talent of the performers and high production values. Collapse

        I saw the show last night and have to admit I was a little disappointed. I have seen quite a few amazing shows at CMTSJ and have been disappointed with the last two. The sets were good and the costumes were OK but the vocals were not up to par nor the acting. Maybe I should of waited for next weekend and they just had a bad night. Collapse
