Incorporating narratives drawn from residents of several local senior centers along with students, internationally acclaimed artist Anna Halprin will re-create three of her path-breaking participatory theater works, Ten Myths. Never performed since its premiere in 1967, Ten Myths helped launch the volley of participatory theater and dance experimentation that would subsequently give rise to postmodern dance. Acclaimed nationally and internationally for her ground-breaking work in performance, expressive arts education, community interaction, and healing, Halprin, at 86, continues to explore the rich connections between art and life, individual and community. A public question and answer session is scheduled to follow each event with the students, seniors, and Halprin.
