    Wear your most elegant late Victorian, Edwardian, or Teens evening dress (from 1890 to 1920) or come as your favorite Edward Gorey character in this tribute to the late, great Master of Gothic Irony. Vintage or modern evening dress is admired, not required; costumes in black, white or shades of grey (in the style of Gorey's art) are also admired but definitely not required. Bangers & Mash plays the greatest dance hits from the 1890's through the Ragtime 'teens for an evening of ballroom dancing. The focus of the evening will be the band's wonderful repertoire of haunting waltzes but other dances include the polka, schottische, ragtime one-step, two-step, and the scandalous new Tango from Argentina by way of Paris, as well as some favorite set dances and mixers, the Congress of Vienna Waltz and that favorite closing dance, Sir Roger de Gorey. There will be a pre-ball survival dance class focusing on the "new" dances on program. Intermission entertainment includes a half-time show tribute to the art of Edward Gorey by Le Theatre des Vampires. Not recommended for the faint of heart. Punch and light period snacks will be served throughout the evening (As usual, your potluck contributions are very welcome).
