Add Review/CommentThis piece is a reinterpretation of the 12th century Iranian love story of Layla and Majnun, in which the lovers are driven insane by their longing. This classic tale has impacted the Eastern audience as Romeo and Juliet had impacted the Western audience. This interpretive performance will showcase historically-based Iranian garments and backdrop created by Shenasa, symbolic props, along with interactive storytelling with the audience. Also featured in the performance is Oakland-based performance poet Roham Shaikhani, and writer Azin Arefi.
