Add Review/CommentArina Burceva is a gifted young artist who has fully committed herself to pursuing her true passion - classical guitar. Born in Ukraine in 1982, Arina started playing guitar at the age of 8, studying with Marina Azar. By the age of 14 she became twice laureate of the national Zhinovic Competition in Belarus and was the youngest student ever to be accepted to Glinka College of Music. She also majored in English Language and studied Art Criticism in Moscow and Vienna. In 2002 Arina resumed guitar studies with Christopher Kachian in St.Paul, USA. In 2003 she won the first and the only prize at Schubert Club Scholarship Competition and gave her successful debut performance at Sundin Hall, MN. In 2006 Arina graduated from San Francisco Conservatory of Music where she studied with David Tanenbaum, and is awarded a scholarship to pursue her Graduate studies with Dusan Bogdanovic. She has also taken lessons from Marc Teicholz, Lawrence Ferrara, Franco Platino, Aliexey Vianna, and performed in masterclasses for William Kanengiser, Aniello Desiderio and Nigel North. Arina has been noted for compelling performances and insightful interpretations. Her repertoire spans 7 centuries of music and boasts a variety of jewels, including original works. She also performed for the Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger and for the former US president George H.W.Bush, and was featured at numerous cultural and religious events.
