A quick change comic tour-de-farce by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears, & Ed Howard What do Arles Struvie, Thurston Wheelis, Aunt Pearl, Petey Fisk, Phineas Blye and Reverend Spikes have in common? They are among the upstanding citizens of Tuna, the third smallest town in Texas. In this hilarious send up that began as a party skit and turned into one of the most produced plays in America, the audience is taken on a single day's visit in the life of a small town where the Lion's Club is too liberal, and Patsy Cline never dies. This eclectic band of twenty different citizens that make up this town are all portrayed by two actors in this Off Broadway hit in a tour-de-farce of quick change artistry, both of costumes and of comic characterizations. Prepare for a rompin', stompin' good time!

Great performances and creative blocking with super lighting effect makes this a very different and intersting procduction. Certainly the challenge is in the adaptation not the presentation and it certainly is visually and mentally engaging...it might not be your thing, but literary types for sure will enjoy this gothic retelling! Having served as foreman on a jury a few years back I was excited to see this play. It's a great character study, exciting to have 12 men in one room all talking. Though I think we are a bit spoiled by the CSI and Law and Order detailed writing, and I felt I was a step ahead of most of these guys, it was really great concept and well executed. There are a surprising number of laughs in this as well as your 1950's dick tracy kind of drama. Worth a see, espcially if you haven't visited this lovely intimate theatre! Collapse

It's been quite a while since I laughed this much in the theater. One person playing 36 parts would seem on the surface to be difficult, but Troy Johnson makes it seem so easy. Not only does he jump from character to character, but each one has a different accent/dialect AND unique mannerisms. And Troy never skips a beat; the changes from one to another are NOT slow but his timing and execution are excellent. This is a show you have got to see if you are looking for a lot of laughs. And it resolves nicely at the end. Paula and Mary (the Directors) deserve a lot of credit for this one as do the techies. This play ran flawlessly and hilariously. (And the young lady cutting up tickets did a great job, too). Don't miss this one! Collapse

this theater is perfect for this story about life in the changing south in the years between 1948 and 1972. the stage production is more fun than the film and the cast three people. Mary Galde as Daisy creates a loveable sympathatic lady fighting to keep her independence, hoke played by Steve Randolph is proud, kindly, and wise in ways that keeps him going is a world where he is a second tier citizen. Boolie played by Ray Medved daisy son and hoke's boss adds balance to the story and together they all shine. the actors take advantage of the humor in the charaters and the events that make the audience laugh and cry out loud and exit with a warm feeling of an evening well spent. Driving Miss Daisy is a event worth the price and the time. Collapse
