        I've not been very happy with the AMTSJ shows over the last few years. Admittedly I'm a harsh critic when it comes to big budget shows that don't always use the copious local talent, but this was a very well done production of a wonderful musical. You can't help but love the songs, and they don't skimp on the dance numbers or the costumes. They were having fun and doing a great job of entertaining. It's so nice to hear an orchestra that is flawless, and even from row 18 I could feel the energy. THIS is the kind of caliber show that can repair the reputation of a company almost over night. They even had the sound/mics almost entirely pitched and volumed correctly which is a huge chore for such a large venue. It's a pretty price, but it's a lovely piece. Finally! Well done AMTSJ.         I saw a dress rehearsal. Already it is stunning. The performances are wonderful. I particularly enjoyed the actress playing Miss Adelaide (too bad programs weren't available, but they should be ready... Expand

        I saw a dress rehearsal. Already it is stunning. The performances are wonderful. I particularly enjoyed the actress playing Miss Adelaide (too bad programs weren't available, but they should be ready by opening night). I also especially enjoyed the scene in Havana, "A Bushel and a Peck", "Luck Be a Lady", and "Marry the Man Today". But really, all the songs are great. There is a reason why this musical is a classic, and AMTSJ does it justice. Collapse
