One night only! ragon Productions presents a special benefit performance. Come see some of Dragon’s favorite actors in a staged reading of several never-before-seen short plays by exciting local playwrights. At turns funny and heartbreaking, these new works will make you laugh, make you think, and let you know what Bay Area Playwrights today are thinking about. After the show, we’ll be having a wine and desert reception, with an opportunity to meet the actors, playwrights and director of the evening’s plays. Come join us!

I loved the intimate setting of the small black box theater, especially for the telling of a compelling story like "Six Years." It brought me right back to my grandfather's living room. I couldn't take my eyes off of Steve Voldseth as he so fully embodied the character of Phil, even through his silent torment & broken thoughts. His commitment to bringing Phil to life is an homage to all veterans & their loved ones. Collapse

What an amazing, fresh, and moving piece of theatre. The topic of the effects of war on the soul and the mind, and the heartbreak of the things we can not control, and so desparately ry to is displayed in a moving, smart, and emotional piece. This is a show you will be sorry you missed, one of the best this year by any theatre company I have seen. A smart selection, a smart cast, and a wonderful story that all many generations can somehow identify with. Go. Collapse

What an absolute joy to see Dragon produce this west cost premiere...at the absolute perfect time. This piece is hauntingly relevent to the world right now. So many things about it nail what so many people are going through right now in terms of aftermath of war. But's it's much more than that. It's a subtle examination of family, relationships and loyalty. I strongly recommend that everyone see this gem while you can! Steve Voldseth and Meredith Hagedorn take the audience on a journey that is cathartic and rewarding. I challenge anyone not to be blown away by the performances (especially Voldseth's expertly nuanced monologue about a chance encounter at an airport). It's risky for a small company to produce a piece that isn't well known, is complicated in its characters and heavy in themes. Support this theatre company in this choice of work! If you want to see more than the same ole, same ole then producers need to know that it will be supported. Collapse

Steve's commitment to the role of Phil Granger was inspiring to say the least. He's an incredible actor and I'm amazed at his in depth, believable, emotional performance.

Watching an actor live moment to moment within each scene, as if he's never done it before, is a gift Steve Voldseth freely gives to the audience in his performance as Phil Granger. My heart opened and broke for Phil, thanks to the honesty, vulnerability, and depth Voldseth gave his character. When he was surprised, I was surprised. When he was angry, I was angry. When he was hopeful, I was hopeful. When he was sad, boy, was I ever. The small, intimate Dragon Theater is the perfect setting for such a heart-breaking, touching story. As an audience member, you'll quickly find yourself touched by the devastating effects of war on the Granger family, while also being moved by hope and love. Go see the play -- you'll feel lucky that you were invited into this family's life to witness them traveling through love, loss, forgiveness, and hope. Collapse
