Watch a 100 year-old Steam Donkey engine at work at the 16th annual Forest Conservation Days program. You are invited to join the Northern California Society of American Foresters for activities that include demonstrations, exhibits and guided nature walks through the majestic redwoods. The public is invited to the weekend activities which are a culmination of a week-long event attended by hundreds of school children. The 2007 program will include popular activities from previous years. Again there will be discussions with professionals including: resource managers, foresters, geologists, archaeologists, wildlife biologists, soil scientists, fire management professionals, and others. The hands-on exhibits will include: wood products displays, pencil and paper making, fire management techniques, career options in natural resource management, logging equipment, portable sawmill, and much more. The event will be held rain or shine at the YSI Science Center in Sanborn-Skyline County Park, 16055 Sanborn Road, Saratoga, CA 95070.
