Experience the adventure, drama and emotion of some of your favorite Hollywood movies with the extraordinary IMAX visual clarity and sound quality. Technically advanced and visually stunning, The IMAX Dome Experience is the world's most powerful and immersive movie experience. Current IMAX Films: Hurricane on the Bayou: A powerfully moving large format film unlike any other, Hurricane on the Bayou carries audiences behind today's news headlines on a journey deep into the soul-stirring heart of Louisiana before, during and after the unprecedented devastation of Hurricane Katrina. Unfolding against the poignant backdrop of the most costly natural disaster in America's history, MacGillivray Freeman's IMAX cameras follow a group of four musicians, both legendary and rising, as they explore the electrifying culture of New Orleans: speed through the beautiful, alligator-filled bayous on airboats; recount their heart-wrenching, personal stories of Katrina; and most of all, bring the focus to the rapidly disappearing wetlands that are New Orleans' first line of defense against deadly storms. Vanishing at an astonishing rate of one acre every 38 minutes according to the U.S. Geological Survey, the wealth, cultural vitality and very future of New Orleans depend on the preservation of these wetlands. Narrated by Academy Award-winning actress Meryl Streep and driven by a rousing Jazz, Blues and Gospel-fueled soundtrack, Hurricane on the Bayou is both a haunting document of a storm's human effects and a compelling call to restore Louisiana's wetlands, rebuild New Orleans, and honor the place where America's most vibrant home-grown culture was born. Greece: Secrets of the Past: This film takes you on a sweeping archeological journey back in time. The film sets out on a quest to uncover the buried secrets of one of the world's most enlightened societies, ancient Greece during the Golden Age. Join a modern archeological dig merged with some of the most advanced digital re-creations ever undertaken. Greece: Secrets of the Past is a story of a Greek archeologist of the 21st century who is uncovering the secret history of his ancient ancestors. Witness scenes that restore such centuries-old spectacles as the original Parthenon and the volcanic eruption that buried Santorini in 1646 BC. Mystic India: The first epic large-format film on India, follows the journey of an extraordinary 11-year-old child named Neelkanth as he treks for 7 years, 8,000 miles, barefoot across the length and breadth of India. Walking with this young yogi, experience the colorful traditions and festivals of an ancient land, explore a diverse country of deserts, tropical forests, mountains, and plains, and introduce yourself to over a billion people who speak 18 different languages and over a thousand dialects. Mystic India is a journey of exploration, a journey of education, but above all else a journey of inspiration. Through all its colors, breathtaking landscapes, and intriguing faces, Mystic India has one simple message - the universally inspiring message of Unity in Diversity. As he narrates the film, Peter O'Toole highlights the theme of Neelkanth's journey: "We are all one people; we share the same sky, walk the same earth, breath the same air; that we are a single human family."

I think everyone could benefit from seeing our bodies in such great detail. It truly is an amazing system and so beautifully and educationally displayed. I learned more from that exhibit than I ever learned from a textbook, due to the three-dimensional presentation. I also found it very helpful to see where my injuries and pains are on the plastic people as opposed to on an x-ray! A couple mom's brought their 3 year olds to the exhibit...Really don't think this is the place for them--would get a sitter. Collapse

The bodies are prepared and come across as much as art as anything else. This exhibition left me with a love and some wonder at the complexity and detail of the human form. Information presented may seem to in depth for the layman or simple for the medical professional but I think keeps a nice balance. I think it would be particularly benefitial for children 8+ accompanied by their parent. Could bring up wonderful discussions about what smoking, drugs abuse, exercise, etc. does for you. Could also spur discussions on where baby's come from, future medical profession interest, etc. However, the child or teen should be accompanied by their parent. Collapse

I saw Body Worlds in Amsterdam, Europe. I found it quite sensational in concept. Knowing little of the human anatomy I thought it would make more sense and be of more use to people that actually know what they see, like those with medical professions. Especially some smaller sections, showing networks of blood veins like delicate chorals, were very colorful and mysteriously beautiful. I understand it is a Chinese production, several shows going around the globe. Around the Amsterdam show there were some rumors concerning the bodies used possibly being those of Chinese prisoners. This possibility and the feeling of gawking at almost real human bodies made me feel a bit uncomfortable. The bodies obviously being Chinese made it strange to see them posing as if they were in the middle of sport activities like American football that seemed out of context. Healthy lungs next to lungs affected by smoking, with a box for people to throw away their cigarettes, I thought was a good idea. Collapse

I saw his exhibit wanting to really be in to the science of it, and I found it to be actually a little disappointing. A couple of the exhibits were ineresting (Fetal development, lungs, and the medical/artificial devices) but overall I wasn't terribly impressed. Interesting yes, but not the jaw dropper I was thinking it would be Collapse

I just saw Body Worlds 3 in Portland and it was beautiful! Because the bodies are plasticized, they appear more like fantastic sculptures than actual corpses. The atmosphere at the exhibit was one of reverence, rather than exploitation. Seeing the bodies made me reflect on mortality and the amazing things the human body is capable of. The exhibit is unforgettable and I highly recommend seeing it! Collapse

There was very little here that could not be done on a website. Most of the exhibit consisted of signage (some interactive) and web pages. While the Tech is a fun and interesting place, this particular exhibit is a real waste of the Museum's floor space for something that could be accomplished via the web. Collapse
