Jack and Algnernon, two young men in 1890’s England, bend the truth to add a dash of excitement to their lives, taking on the name of Ernest in order to win the hearts of their respective loves, Gwendolen and Cecily, two ladies who are sure they could only love men called Ernest. The men’s elaborate deception leads to more surprises than even they could have envisioned! Wilde's effervescent classic comedy peopled with unforgettable characters cleverly lampoons the Victorian obsession with wealth, breeding and propriety and is recognized as one of the most brilliant comedies in the English language.

Having seen this show many times I didn't have too many expectations as to anything surprising, but this is a fun and somewhat unique production. The style is definately a bit over the top and sterotypical, but it serves the comical talents of the actors and amuses the audience. It was slow in places and rushed in others, but overall enjoyable. Collapse
