    Arsenic and Old Lace is a frenzied, hilarious, madcap black comedy. This slapstick play, with murderous aunts compassionately serving up elderberry wine to elderly gentlemen, their frenzied nephew attempting to save them from the electric chair, their eccentric brother who thinks he is Teddy Roosevelt and the "special" activities of an unwelcome guest is a hysterical romp with something for everyone. A marvelous example of exaggeration, double-takes, general befuddlement and macabre farce.
