Over Thanksgiving weekend, November 24, 2007, Oscar Reynolds & Karumanta bring magical music from the Andes and the Amazon. The trio's name means "from far away" in Quechua, the Incan language of Oscar Reynolds' ancestors, and their music transports listeners to Oscar's native Bolivia for a musical tour of the country's diverse regions and historical periods. Audiences will, no doubt, recognize the influence of Spanish conquistadors, African slaves, even classic rockers in Karumanta's music. Oscar, best-known for his amazing ability to play pan flute and guitar simultaneously, performs with Afro-Peruvian drummer/dancer Lalo Izquierdo and charango virtuoso Jose Luis Reynolds.
