    Sunnyvale Theatre celebrates the holidays on December 15, 2007, with the irreverent Appalachian-style Christmas Jug Band. What began as group of professional jazz, blues, folk and rock musician friends jamming at a December open mike night 30 years ago has become a Bay Area holiday tradition. Performing on a funky assortment of instruments such as washboards, kazoos and jaw harp, the group's repertoire includes original novelty songs, parodies and raucous versions of seasonal favorites. In the off season, Christmas Jug Band members have backed up such notables as Elvis Costello, Van Morrison, Country Joe McDonald and Etta James.
