Tabia African-American Theatre Ensemble presents Urban Bush Women in Hair Stories. We shape it, streak it, tease it, bleach it. We primp, brood and agonize over it because everyone wants great hair. Hair stories look at the relationship of African Americans to their hair, and how that reflects self-image, social and economic status, and cultural identity. Set to the driving music of James Brown, George Clinton and the Funkedelics, Hair Stories will give you a new look. Please join us for this dance work with song, and spoken word, that looks at the relation of Women to their hair! Sat, Feb 21st will feature the Cultural Connections Diversity Awards at 6:30pm with the performance beginning at 8pm.
