The Peninsula Symphony presents the Crystal Children's Choir & Firebird Youth Chinese Orchestra.
The Crystal Children's Choir was founded in March 1994, Crystal Choir drew its original members from a group of musically inclined children residing in the San Francisco Bay area and are recognized throughout the Bay area as an outstanding choral organization for boys and girls, ages six and up.
The Firebird Youth Chinese Orchestra is a unique artistic and educational organization in the San Francisco Bay Area. With only 13 young musicians, FYCO was founded in 2000 by Gordon Lee, a well-known Chinese music educator. Currently, FYCO has three groups with over 100 musicians playing traditional Chinese instruments. Most of them are American born Chinese youths ranging from 9-17 years of age.
