    San Jose Dance Theatre will perform its 42nd production of The Nutcracker at the San Jose Center for the Performing Arts. Join Clara and her family for an elaborate celebration at the Stahlbaum's home. Follow Clara's mysterious godfather, Drosselmeyer, as he casts a spell before your eyes as dancing toys delight the party guests. Join us for an exciting Backstage Tour before each performance. Meet the dancers preparing for the performance and meet the stage crew as they prepare the sets and props for the performance. You can also join cast members for autographs, photos, cookies and punch at Candy Kingdom before our evening performances and after our matinee performances. Come bring your family and friends to this favorite holiday tradition featuring the beloved music of Tchaikowsky and the story of The Nutcracker.

        We Love this Nutcracker! My family has been coming to this Nutcracker for over 20 years. It our family tradition. The sets, the costumes, the 24 gingerbread cookies all make this production so fun but yet very professional. We think this is the best Nutcracker in the Bay Area. Collapse

        We go every year, and every year the performance gets better and better. There is no better Nutcracker if you have children. We love seeing all the young dancers performing with the professionals. And watching the young performers grow from roll to roll every year, we feel like we know them. If I was a dancer, this would be the show for me!! And don't miss the party after the show; getting to see the characters up close is a special treat for the young ones in the family. Congratulations on the 40th anniversary San Jose Dance Theatre. We are looking forward to the next 40!! Collapse
