    Richard Ferman, a historian and the program chairman of the County Genealogical Society will present a lecture on the history of Santa Clara County during the American Civil War years. This will encompass Civil War battles in Santa Clara County, the intervention of President Abraham Lincoln and the United States Supreme Court in county affairs in this time period, economic conditions and issues that resulted in tensions between those supporting the Union versus those supporting the South,treasonous schemes devised by some of the Southern sympathizers, and places where Civil War veterans are buried in Santa Clara County. Free program sponsored by the Santa Clara County Historical & Genealogical Society.
