    Throughout history composers of church music have venerated the Blessed Virgin Mary, with the Song of Mary (Magnificat) perhaps the Biblical text most often set to music. Prayers to Mary, such as Ave Maria and Regina coeli, follow close behind. Our program surveys composers' different approaches to this subject, from medieval times to the present. Featuring Chicago composer Frank Ferko's Marian Anthems, the program also includes works by Dufay, Victoria, Guerrero, Brahms and Tavener.
