We're off to see the Wizard at a ball in the glorious capital city of Oz. Come join us in honouring the singular courage of Dorothy Gale and her intrepid companions as they prepare to embark on their dangerous mission to the West. Fantasy costume, period costume (Medieval to Edwardian), or a combination of the two is admired but not required and, of course, costumes inspired by the Oz universe will be very welcome. Modern evening dress is also perfectly acceptable and there is no dress code for the ball. Dance music for the evening will range from elegant Edwardian ballroom dance music to Celtic and Celtic Fusion rock. Dance waltzes, polkas, schottisches, reels, contradances, and other popular turn of the century dances. While some of our dances will be carefully organized pattern dances (and all of these will be briefly taught and called), some of the other dances are free-form and open to improvisation. The Wizard will provide music for every taste! There will be music and dance performances at half-time as well as DJ dance music for intermission.
