Add Review/CommentAs part of the West Coast premiere of School of Americas, Oscar nominated screenwriter Jose Rivera will be on hand to discuss the life and legacy of Che Guevera, one of Cuba’s most revolutionary socialist leaders. Rivera became the first Puerto Rican screenplay writer nominated for an Academy Award for The Motorcycle Diaries. The film was based on the diary of Guevera’s Latin American travels with friend Alberto Granado. Starring Mauricio Mendoza from Showtime’s Resurrection Blvd, School of Americas can be seen at the Mexican Heritage Plaza from January 24th- February 10th. Part of the Salon de Mexico series presented in partnership by The Commonwealth Club Silicon Valley & The Mexican Heritage. Also Note: Good Lit Event Generously underwritten by the Bernard Osher Foundation.
