    “Roots,” a show featuring prints of the everlasting magnificence of trees by Menlo Park artist Marianne Schlumberger, is at the Main Gallery in Redwood City from Feb. 13 to March 6.

    “As I worked on these prints, I felt connected to the beauty and fragility of the trees we take for granted,” Schlumberger said. “We need both the movement and excitement of the future, but grounded in the roots of the past as symbolized by trees.”

    A reception for the artist will be held Feb. 17 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the gallery.
