    The Matchmaker by Thornton Wilder is the classic farce on which the hit musical Hello, Dolly! was based. An irascible, wealthy store owner in Yonkers, New York, circa 1880, employs a matchmaker to find him a wife. The shrewd businessman becomes putty in the hands of Dolly Levi, who pretends to make a match for him but in reality is making it for herself, all while leading a rather ordinary group of people on the adventures of a lifetime. Its all in the name of love!
