    Metro Music in the Other Park is back for its 11th season starting June 5. These concerts, produced by the San Jose Downtown Association, are always absolutely free. You will be able to enter the Music in the Park 20th anniversary contest by stopping by the Metro Newspapers booth at Music in the Other Park.

    Dates this year: Every Thursday in June
    (June 5, June 12, June 19, June 26)

    5:30 p.m. to 9:15 p.m.
    St. James Park
    at First and St. James streets

    Food and beverages are available at the park. Be sure to visit the Lounge in the Park, which is open to the public, and enjoy sangria, beer and wine.

    This year: no smoking in the park.

    June 19: Augustana (rock/pop) with Special Guest: Ben Lee
    Augustana's first album, "All the Stars and Boulevards," has sold more than 160,000 copies since its release. The California-based band keeps a melodic sound and is coupled by the lead singer's expressive voice. Their most current album, "Can't Love, Can't Hurt," is available on iTunes and in stores.

    Ben Lee is a sensation in his native Australia. His following grows bigger by the day in the United States.
