Review/Comment
Noises Off presents the story of a hapless English acting troupe who are touring a production of a farce called Nothing On. Frayn has filled this “funniest farce ever” with lots of doors slamming, sexual dalliances, confusions, and, of course, plates of sardines. An unrivalled delight for anyone who thinks that falling down is funny, that underwear is outerwear, and that theatre is a metaphor for life itself.

One of the theater's most beloved farces, Michael Frayn's "Noises Off" can be a bloody mess if not performed by a first-rate cast. Happily, City Lights has mounted a truly dynamic staging with a cast that coaxes every last slap of the knee from the audience. Steve Lambert exudes pure genius as the bitingly sarcastic director of the As the director of the play-within-a-play (entitled "Nothing On"), while Robyn Winslow is the embodiment of sexuality as the underwear-clad, dumb-blonde actress who is utterly incapable of improvisation. All nine performers in this classic comedy are a riot -- don't miss it! Collapse

Dazzling! All I'll say is it's hard to breathe when you're laughing so hard! Long show, but well worth it!
