    Bharathanatyam is one of the oldest classical dance forms of India. It is a multi-faceted art form, which encompasses rhythm, poetry and mime. Its two main parts are, the dynamic rhythmic movements and the art of expression. In a recital all theses elements amalgamate and become unified with the dancer. "Margam” is a traditional format of a solo Bharatanatyam recital which consists of independent items arranged in a specific order to display all the components of the dance form.
