A kiss is still a kiss, a sigh is still a sigh, but what happens after time—lots of time--goes by? A young wife choosing between love and duty could learn a lesson from a sadder but wiser couple’s once-hot affair. An Ibsenesque dilemma, served up with a dash of bracing British humor.

Event Name: The Circle
"Civilized Entertainment"

Some nice chemisty and amusing dialogue in this polite comedy. Endearing characters, some over the top and affected, some charming and quite likeable. A nice evening in a beautiful setting.

The Circle contained themes and punch lines that resonated with me personally, even as a young woman in 2009. I laughed A LOT and even became teary eyed at one point when Ken Boswell and Amanda Mitchell shared an extremely truthful and sincere moment on stage together in a beautiful scene toward the show's conclusion. Alex Hero was a treat. He sure can light up the stage! He created a loveable and sweet Teddy. I was also quite impressed with his authentic use of an accent that very much suited Teddy's place in society. In fact, the entire cast was quite perfect in the dialect.John Baldwin was HILARIOUS and honest, and Suzanne Sturn was amazing as well. James Mantell was spectacular--I hope to him on stage again!I could go on and on, the entire cast was simply fantastic. I felt like I could meet these characters in the real world, and tip my hat to these artists for keeping it simple and real. The Pear is a very lovely venue and I plan to attend their next show.
