This poignant and delightfully funny comedy centers around three Jewish widows who meet once a month for tea before going to visit their husbands’ graves. Ida is sweet tempered and ready to begin a new life, Lucille is the feisty embodiment of the girl who just wants to have fun, and Doris is conservative and judgmental, particularly when Sam the butcher enters the scene. Will one woman’s second chance at love bring them all closer together or tear these best friends apart?

This was my 2nd NTC show and I was once again impressed with the caliber of its performances. Great acting, good storyline and intimate venue made for a terrific Girls Night Out.

Besides being a funny but tender script, the ensemble work of the lead women, Ida, Lucille, and Doris, is warm and genuine and very moving. This is one more example of excellent theater in our area.... Expand
