KRIA - World Fusion Music & Dance Concert is a fundraiser to benefit art, music and dance programs for underprivileged children. this amazing concert comprises a diverse group of world renowned musicians and dancers that have shared their distinct talents with one another. Complete with a celebrity Guest of Honor, Faran Tahir, Hollywood actor from IronMan, Lost, and StarTrek XI. Headlining musicians will include, Grammy nominee, Pandit Tarun Bhattacharya; world renowned, santoor (100 stringed instrument) maestro who has performed with musical legends Ravi Shankar and George Harrison of the Beatles and Abhishek Basu; internationally acclaimed master percussionist and composer whose composition has reached BBC world chartbuster. Extra accompaniment provided by Jazz musicians Jim Wendt and Erik Everett.

Along with the diverse selection of  music will be  vibrant and gifted dance teams depicting the theme of  “KRIA” ("action" in Sanskrit) inclduing Shivani Thakkar dancer, choreographer, and actress with her troupe, Project Pulse, Bay Area dance and drama company, Holly Shaw, San Franciscan flamenco dancer, and Katy Barnhill,  multi faceted, award winning dancer & choreographer. This event will also include a silent Art auction, showcasing artworks of local artists.

    We listened to the music of Bhattacharya and Basu on You tube and fell in love with it, They are indeed world class. My wife and I are both art major and we totally relate to the decline in art... Expand

    I recently watched a dance performance by Holly Shaw in the City and I was mesmerized. She is a brilliant dancer and choreographer. This events seems to have put together an ensemble of talented dancers who are experts in their areas. I think it will be a blast. Will not miss the event for anything. I am very touched by the cause. Art education is indeed declining and it is great to see Induz do something about it. Thanks Collapse
