Take a modern band and present them with a musical setting from early-mid century Paris and Brussels, and what do you have? Gaucho! They incorporate gypsy jazz into an up-to-date sound that is guaranteed to enliven and entertain. The group captures a passion from when the melodies of New Orleans jazz were in the air and mingles them with the sounds of cafés and dance halls to deliver an extraordinarily captivating experience.

Gaucho benefits from the individual gifts and faculties of its members and is piloted with a steady hand by Dave Ricketts, who has a degree in classical guitar. Talented keyboardist and composer Rob Reich holds down the accordion chair with rare finesse, while guitarist Mike Groh, as a bookend to Dave, adds a discriminating palette of jazz and blues to the mix. Anchoring the rhythm section and holding it all together is Ari Munkres, who is one of the most sought-after gypsy jazz bass players in the country. This ensemble is truly a collective alliance with a singular acoustic voice.
