Californian guitarist and composer Jim Stubblefield is one of the rising stars of the nuevo flamenco movement, joining the passion of traditional flamenco with contemporary elements like South American rhythms and Afro-Cuban jazz. All Music Guide Guitarra Exotica features bassists Randy Tico, & Ruben Ramos, violist Novi Novog, and Percussionist Bryan Brock.

    This was an awesome concert. One of those rare gems you just happen to dig up when cruising the internet for something to do on a Saturday night that ends up becoming an unforgettable event. A totally... Expand
    
    This was an awesome concert. One of those rare gems you just happen to dig up when cruising the internet for something to do on a Saturday night that ends up becoming an unforgettable event. A totally undiscovered band and venue. It is a very intimate venue where you sit a few feet from the artists, and the band was new, fresh, classy, intelligent and catchy. Absolutely spectactular guitar work by Stubblefield brought tears to my eyes. A beautiful and talented viola player ... where did she come from... interwove accompaniment and traded leads with Stubblefield. A versatile percussionist set down fantastic latin rythms that made tapping your foot avoidable, and a base guitarist/rythm guitarist/ sometimes lead who rounded out the foursome to result in an intricate fusion that entertained and challenged you. Wow. This is the beginning of a new wave of latin based popular music reminding me of Roberto y Gabriel. Thanks for a memorable night that too few of us were fortunate to experience. Collapse
