Free live music, food, and shopping (what a great combination!) This annual benefit for FCL, the Quaker "Lobby of Conscience" in Sacramento, is basically a rummage sale, huge book sale, and outdoor performance venue rolled together. Performers include Peter Spitzer's jazz ensemble, Orkestar Zaedno (traditional Bulgarian folk), Born To Drone (Balkan women's choir), and the Raging Grannies (political satire). Middle Eastern falafel lunch will be served, and many cakes, cookes, pies, and brownies will tempt you. Take home home-made jams & chutneys, handmade soap, textiles and gifts; housewares, tools, jewelry, fine crystal, and unpredictable discoveries; Salvadoran handicrafts. The used-book sale is well-organized and offers thousands of titles.
