    Robert's break came in 1986 when Rodney Dangerfield invited him to perform on his HBO Young Comedians Special which led to his critically acclaimed Showtime specials, Hard Core in the Big Apple, and Robert Schimmel: Guilty as Charged. His TV credits include, "Staff writer on In Living Color," Appearances on The Howard Stern Show, and Late Night with Conan O'Brien. In addition, The Lymphoma Research Foundation of America honored Schimmel with their annual Celebration of Life Award, presented to an individual that shows determination, strenght and courage in thier fight against cancer. He recently recovered from non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. He was awarded Stand-Up of the year at The 13th Annual American Comedy Awards.
