Add Review/CommentFree concert with multi-generational duo Bob Applebaum of Chicago and his son Mark Applebaum of Menlo Park, CA. The father-son Applebaum duo describes themselves as a two-piano, four-hand, 20-finger, 176-key, two-many-notes ensemble. The program, performed on two grand pianos, will include jazz standards by Miles Davis, Bill Evans, Thelonious Monk, Duke Ellington, Wayne Shorter and others, as well as original compositions. Since their official formation as a duo in 2001, the ensemble has concertized from CA to Tunisia. In 2002, they released their first CD, aptly named: The Apple Doesn’t Fall Far From The Tree.
Concert goers are also invited to attend a pre-concert opening reception of A Symphony of Color, an exhibition of works by 20 artists from the Los Altos Art Club, in CSMA’s Mohr Gallery at 6 pm.
